Mahan Industries Limited has posted a sharp rise in profit for the first quarter of FY27. The company reported a net profit of ₹172.22 lakh for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. In the same quarter of the previous year, the company had a net profit of only ₹8.11 lakh. This marks a rise of 2,030% year on year.
The result looks very strong at first view. A rise of more than 2,000% in profit can attract a lot of market attention. However, the full set of numbers gives a more detailed picture. A large part of the profit came from other income, while the rise in core revenue was also quite strong.
The Board of Directors approved the unaudited financial results and the limited review report at its meeting on August 17, 2026. Statutory auditors S D P M & Co. issued an unmodified review report on the standalone financial results.
Revenue Rises 309%
Mahan Industries reported revenue from operations of ₹266.31 lakh in Q1FY27. In Q1FY26, revenue from operations stood at ₹65.05 lakh. This means the company saw a rise of 309% year on year.
This is an important part of the result because the growth was not limited to the bottom line. The company also saw a large rise in its operating revenue. Sales of shares and stock in trade were a major part of this revenue.
Sales of shares and stock in trade stood at ₹208.54 lakh in Q1FY27. The figure was ₹52.71 lakh in Q1FY26. Interest income also rose to ₹57.76 lakh from ₹12.34 lakh in the same period a year ago.
These figures show that the company had a much higher level of business activity in the first quarter of the new financial year.
Other Income Becomes a Major Factor
The most important point in the Q1 result is other income. Mahan Industries reported other income of ₹303.59 lakh in Q1FY27. In Q1FY26, other income was only ₹0.19 lakh.
The jump is very large. More importantly, other income of ₹303.59 lakh was higher than revenue from operations of ₹266.31 lakh.
This means the reported profit did not come only from the company’s regular operating revenue. Other income had a major role in the final profit figure. Investors should keep this point in mind before they treat the 2,030% rise in net profit as a sign of a similar rise in the company’s core business.
A very high level of other income can lift profit in one quarter, but it may not repeat at the same level in every future quarter. For that reason, the next few results will be important.
Expenses Also Rise Sharply
The company also saw a major rise in total expenses. Expenses stood at ₹356.57 lakh in Q1FY27, compared with ₹57.14 lakh in Q1FY26.
The rise in expenses is large, but it needs to be viewed along with the rise in revenue and other income. Revenue from operations rose from ₹65.05 lakh to ₹266.31 lakh, while other income rose from ₹0.19 lakh to ₹303.59 lakh.
The rise in expenses means the company had a much larger cost base during the quarter. Despite this, Mahan Industries ended the period with a net profit of ₹172.22 lakh.
The key question for the future is whether the company can maintain a healthy profit level without a very large contribution from other income.
Why the 2,030% Profit Growth Needs Care
A jump from ₹8.11 lakh to ₹172.22 lakh is clearly impressive in percentage terms. But percentage growth can look very large when the base figure is small.
In Q1FY26, the company had a net profit of only ₹8.11 lakh. Against such a low base, even a moderate rise can produce a very high year-on-year percentage.
There is another factor that matters more here. Other income was ₹303.59 lakh in Q1FY27, while it was just ₹0.19 lakh in Q1FY26. This huge change had a major effect on the final result.
So, the result is positive, but investors should not look at the 2,030% figure alone. The quality and source of profit matter as much as the size of profit.
What the Revenue Details Tell Us
The revenue details provide some useful clues about the company’s activity. Sales of shares and stock in trade rose to ₹208.54 lakh from ₹52.71 lakh. This shows that this part of the business was much higher than it was a year earlier.
Interest income also rose from ₹12.34 lakh to ₹57.76 lakh. That is another notable change in the quarter.
At the same time, the company had other income of ₹303.59 lakh. Since this amount was higher than the revenue from operations, it became a major source of the quarter’s overall income.
This mix makes the result different from the result of a company where most profit comes from a stable product or service business. Future results can give a clearer idea of how much of this income can continue.
Board and Corporate Update
The Board also took note of the resignation of Yash Kamleshkumar Shah from the role of Non-Executive Independent Director. His resignation was effective from August 8, 2026.
The company said the required disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, was submitted to the stock exchange on August 8, 2026.
This change is separate from the Q1 financial result, but it is still relevant for shareholders who follow the company’s board structure and corporate governance.
What Investors Should Watch Next
The Q1 numbers give Mahan Industries a strong start to FY27, at least on the profit front. Revenue from operations also rose by 309%, which is a positive sign.
Still, the biggest point for investors is the source of the profit. Other income of ₹303.59 lakh was higher than operating revenue of ₹266.31 lakh. This makes it important to see what happens in the next quarters.
If the company can maintain strong revenue from operations, control its expenses and produce healthy profit without a very high dependence on other income, the Q1 result could prove more meaningful. If other income falls sharply, the reported profit may also see a major change.
Investors should therefore focus on the trend across several quarters instead of judging the company only by the 2,030% year-on-year profit rise.
Overall View
Mahan Industries’ Q1FY27 result has several positive points. Net profit rose from ₹8.11 lakh to ₹172.22 lakh, a 2,030% increase. Revenue from operations rose from ₹65.05 lakh to ₹266.31 lakh, a 309% rise. Sales of shares and stock in trade reached ₹208.54 lakh, while interest income rose to ₹57.76 lakh.
At the same time, total expenses increased to ₹356.57 lakh from ₹57.14 lakh. Other income also jumped to ₹303.59 lakh from ₹0.19 lakh.
The headline profit growth is therefore strong, but the full picture is more complex. The next two or three quarterly results should show whether this level of profit can continue and whether the core business can support it.
For now, the Q1 numbers are clearly better than the year-ago quarter, but they need a careful look before investors treat the result as proof of a lasting rise in earnings power.
