Knowledge Marine Q1 FY27 Call: Key Details

Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd will host its Q1 FY27 results call on August 26, 2026. The call will cover the company’s operational and financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The session will start at 4:00 pm IST.

The call comes soon after the company released a strong set of Q1 FY27 numbers. Investors will get a chance to hear directly from senior management about the quarter, the business outlook and the plans for the rest of FY27. The company has also said that no price-sensitive information will be disclosed during the session.

Senior Management Will Join the Call

Sujay Kewalramani, Chief Executive Officer, and Kanak Kewalramani, Director and Chief Financial Officer, will take part in the call. Their comments may help investors understand the reasons behind the sharp rise in revenue and profit in Q1 FY27.

Management may also give more detail on the company’s marine business, project execution, vessel plans and future demand. For investors, the main value of the call may come from the answers to questions about whether the strong Q1 numbers can continue across the rest of the year.

The call is held under Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.

Q1 FY27 Revenue Shows a Sharp Rise

Knowledge Marine reported revenue from operations of ₹1,154.1 crore in Q1 FY27. This was much higher than ₹371.0 crore in Q1 FY26. On a year-on-year basis, revenue rose by 211%.

The scale of this rise is one of the main reasons the Q1 results have attracted attention. The company had reported revenue from operations of ₹371.0 crore in the same quarter last year. The latest figure is more than three times that level.

The company’s total income from operations also stood at ₹1,154.1 crore for Q1 FY27. The sharp rise points to a much stronger quarter compared with the same period last year.

Profit Also Rose in Q1 FY27

Profit before tax stood at ₹1,827.5 crore in Q1 FY27, up 156% from ₹713.7 crore in Q1 FY26.

Net profit after tax was reported at ₹1,289.3 crore, compared with ₹711.5 crore a year earlier. This marks an 81% year-on-year rise.

Basic earnings per share rose to ₹11.33 from ₹6.58 in Q1 FY26. That represents a 72% increase.

These numbers show that the company saw a major rise in both revenue and profit. At the same time, the growth rates were not the same across all measures. Revenue rose 211%, while profit before tax rose 156% and net profit rose 81%. This difference is important because it can tell investors more about costs, margins and the mix of business.

Margin Deserves Close Attention

One key point from the Q1 data is the change in profit margin. The reported figures show that the pre-tax margin was about 19.2% in Q1 FY26 and about 15.8% in Q1 FY27.

This means the company made far more revenue, but the profit rate was lower than it was a year earlier. A lower margin does not mean that the quarter was weak. The absolute profit still rose sharply. However, it raises an important question for investors: can the company maintain its high revenue growth while also protect its margin?

The management response on this issue could be one of the most important parts of the August 26 call. Investors may want more detail on the cost base, project mix and the factors that led to the difference between revenue growth and profit growth.

Nine-Month Numbers Add More Context

The company also reported strong figures for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2026. Consolidated revenue stood at ₹24,728.7 crore, compared with ₹23,537.9 crore in full FY25.

Consolidated net profit for the nine-month period was ₹5,713.0 crore, compared with ₹4,997.0 crore in FY25.

These figures provide a wider view of the company’s financial position. They also show that the latest quarter should not be viewed on its own. Investors can use the call to understand how the full-year numbers may develop and whether the pace seen in Q1 can continue through the next few quarters.

Recent Orders Add to the Story

The Q1 call also comes at a time when Knowledge Marine has received fresh business opportunities. The company won an ₹11.41 crore work order from Paradip Port Authority in August 2026.

It also secured a ₹66.11 crore order from the Inland Waterways Authority of India for 10 hybrid electric ferries in June 2026. These orders add to the company’s project pipeline and show demand across different parts of its marine business.

The company has also set a ₹1,000 crore topline target and has cited a ₹3,000 crore bid pipeline. Investors may therefore pay close attention to management comments on new contracts, project execution and the path toward these targets.

Capital Plans May Get More Attention

Another area worth close attention is capital use. Knowledge Marine has approved a preferential share issue, with the issue price set at ₹1,962.53 per share.

The company may need capital as it expands its fleet, takes on new projects and develops its marine and ship-related operations. Investors will want to know how management plans to use the funds and how much capital the business may need over the next few years.

The quality of that capital use will matter as much as the pace of growth. Strong revenue growth can create value only if the company can earn healthy returns on the money it puts into new assets and projects.

What Investors May Ask Management

The August 26 call could give investors more clarity on several key areas. The first is the reason for the 211% rise in revenue. The second is the lower margin rate despite the sharp rise in sales.

Management may also face questions about the order book, project timelines, vessel additions, new contract wins and the ₹3,000 crore bid pipeline. Investors may also seek more detail on the ₹1,000 crore topline target.

Another key question is whether the Q1 performance was a one-off result or the start of a longer period of strong growth. The answer will depend on project execution, new orders, demand and cost control.

A Strong Quarter With Questions Ahead

Knowledge Marine enters the Q1 FY27 results call with a much stronger financial picture than a year ago. Revenue from operations rose 211% to ₹1,154.1 crore. Profit before tax rose 156% to ₹1,827.5 crore, while net profit after tax rose 81% to ₹1,289.3 crore. Basic EPS also rose 72% to ₹11.33.

Yet the results also raise questions. The gap between revenue growth and profit growth led to a lower reported pre-tax margin. Investors will therefore look beyond the headline numbers and focus on the quality and durability of the growth.

The August 26 call should provide a clearer view of what lies ahead for Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works. For shareholders and market watchers, the most useful part may not be the past quarter alone, but management’s view on future orders, margins, capital use and the company’s FY27 growth path.

One data point also deserves care: the reported Q1 figures contain unusually large profit values relative to revenue, so investors should verify the figures against the company’s official financial filing before use in any investment decision. Independent results data also reports Q1 FY27 revenue from operations at ₹11,541.37 lakh and net profit at ₹6,173 lakh, which differs materially from the figures cited in the ScanX report.

For that reason, the management call and the company’s official filings will be important sources for a final assessment of the quarter.
