XRP Price Analysis: XRP Rises 7% to $1.62 as Bulls Return

XRP has made a strong recovery after a sharp fall earlier this month. As of September 23, 2026, XRP trades near $1.62, with a rise of about 7% in 24 hours. The coin reached an intraday high of about $1.66 and an intraday low near $1.51.

Current market data puts XRP’s market value near $101.65 billion, which keeps it among the largest crypto assets by market value. Its 24-hour trade volume is close to $7.96 billion. XRP has also gained about 24.55% over seven days, while its 30-day gain is about 10.36%.

The latest move is important because XRP was near $1.25 only a short time ago. The coin then recovered toward $1.58 and later moved above $1.60. This shows how quickly XRP can change direction when traders react to major news, short positions, ETF flows and broader crypto market moves.

At the same time, the current price remains well below XRP’s all-time high of $3.65. Based on the current price, XRP is still about 55.7% below that peak.

XRP’s Recent Price Recovery

The latest XRP move came after a difficult period. On September 15, the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act in a 49-50 vote. The event hurt sentiment across parts of the crypto market, and XRP fell sharply.

XRP reached a low near $1.25 after the vote. The price then began to recover. By September 22, XRP had moved back toward $1.58, and the latest market data now shows a price close to $1.62.

One reason for this fast recovery was the close of short positions. A report from Yahoo Finance said about $300 million in short positions were closed, which helped push the price higher. This matters because a rally caused partly by short closures can lose force once those forced purchases end.

CryptoSlate also reported that XRP derivatives volume rose to about $7.4 billion, while CME leveraged funds cut about 46.3 million XRP from their net short exposure. This points to a major shift in derivatives positions during the recent price rebound.

The key question now is whether XRP can keep its gains after the short-cover move fades. Fresh spot demand, ETF flows and higher market activity will matter if the price wants to hold above $1.60.

The $1.60 Level Matters

The $1.60 area has become an important short-term price zone. XRP has now moved back above this level after its fall toward $1.25.

A sustained move above $1.60 to $1.66 could show that buyers have regained control of the short-term trend. The upper end of this range is especially important because $1.66 is the latest intraday high.

A clear move above $1.66 could improve the technical picture. However, a simple move above that number does not guarantee a lasting breakout. XRP would need to hold the new price area and attract fresh trade volume.

The other side of the picture is the $1.50 to $1.53 area. This zone has become an important support area after the recent rebound. Yahoo Finance also identified about $1.53 as a key level for the current recovery.

If XRP stays above this area, the recent recovery can remain intact. If the price falls below it, traders may start to question whether the latest rally had enough strength to continue.

What Happens Below $1.50?

A fall below $1.50 would not automatically mean that XRP has entered a new major downtrend. However, it would weaken the current short-term structure.

Technical analysis published earlier this week placed another support zone around $1.3458 to $1.3778. The same analysis identified about $1.3193, $1.30 and $1.2468 as lower areas that could matter if the recovery breaks down.

These levels give traders a wider view of the market. XRP does not move from bullish to bearish because of one price point alone. The size of the move, daily closes, volume and wider crypto market conditions all matter.

For now, the most important short-term range appears to sit between about $1.50 and $1.66. A move outside that range could give the market a clearer signal about the next phase.

XRP ETF Flows Remain Important

XRP spot ETFs have become one of the biggest parts of the market story. Reports put cumulative U.S. spot XRP ETF inflows at about $1.71 billion as of September 18.

These flows matter because ETFs give traditional investors a simple way to gain exposure to XRP without directly holding the token. Strong inflows can therefore add a new source of demand.

The picture is not one-way, however. CryptoSlate reported a $5.15 million outflow from two U.S. spot XRP ETFs on September 17, after a period of strong inflows. The same report said monthly inflows stood near $192 million at that point.

This means traders should watch the flow data rather than assume that ETF demand will always rise. A steady flow of new money would give the price recovery a stronger base. A period of large outflows could put extra pressure on the market.

The ETF story is also useful because it helps separate two types of price moves. A rally based mostly on short closures can fade fast. A rally supported by steady spot demand and ETF purchases may have a different structure.

XRP Ledger Upgrade Adds Another Catalyst

Another major XRP story is the Batch V1.1 amendment for the XRP Ledger.

The upgrade has received support from 30 of 35 validators, above the 28-validator level needed to enter the activation process. If support stays above 80% for the full 14-day period, activation is expected around September 29.

Batch V1.1 would allow as many as eight linked transactions to settle together. The system can make the group act as one unit, so all transactions succeed or all fail.

This could help with several financial uses. A payment and an asset transfer could settle as one group. Exchanges, wallets and marketplaces could also combine a customer payment with a service fee.

Ripple has said asset managers and other commercial projects are preparing to use the feature. Specific partners have not yet been fully disclosed.

The upgrade also has an important history. An earlier version had a security flaw before it reached the main network. That version never went live, so no user funds were at risk. The new version went through a redesign and further security work before the current validator vote.

If Batch V1.1 goes live as planned, it could add another reason for investors to focus on the XRP Ledger beyond the XRP token price itself.

Regulatory News Remains a Risk

Regulation remains one of the biggest outside factors for XRP.

The U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act by a 49-50 vote on September 15. The bill sought to create a clearer legal framework for the U.S. crypto market. Reuters described the vote as a major setback for broader crypto legislation.

The market response was clear. XRP fell from about $1.42 before the vote to near $1.28 soon after, with a later low near $1.25. The coin has since recovered much of that decline.

This event shows why XRP can react sharply to U.S. policy news. A future change in crypto regulation could affect market confidence, institutional demand and the wider use of digital assets.

For XRP traders, regulation is therefore worth close attention even when the chart itself looks strong.

Moscow Exchange Adds More XRP Derivatives Access

Another recent development came from the Moscow Exchange. The exchange launched XRP perpetual futures for qualified investors on September 22.

Early activity was small. Reports cited about $53,000 in volume and 508 contracts in open interest.

The launch does not by itself prove a major shift in XRP demand. Still, it gives professional traders another way to take positions on XRP without direct spot ownership.

More derivatives access can increase market activity, but it can also raise volatility. Traders can use leverage on both sides of the market, so a sudden price move can create forced closures and make the move larger.

The recent XRP rally already shows how important derivatives can be. The reported decline in short exposure helped fuel the move from the $1.20s toward $1.60.

What XRP Traders Should Watch Next

The next major price test is the $1.60 to $1.66 zone. XRP is now close to that area, so a sustained break above $1.66 would be a notable technical event.

The first support area to watch is $1.50 to $1.53. If XRP holds there during a pullback, the recent recovery would remain in better shape.

Below that, the $1.40 to $1.45 region becomes important. A deeper decline could then bring the $1.35 area and the recent $1.25 low back into focus.

Apart from price, ETF flows may be just as important. Strong inflows could provide fresh demand, while large outflows could make it harder for XRP to hold higher levels.

Derivatives data also deserves attention. Open interest, funding rates and changes in short exposure can show whether the market has too much leverage. A sharp rise in leverage can create fast moves in either direction.

The September 29 XRP Ledger upgrade is another date worth watching. Its effect on price is uncertain, but successful activation could add a positive network catalyst.

XRP Outlook

XRP has moved from a sharp September decline into a strong recovery. The price is now near $1.62, up about 7% over 24 hours, with a $1.66 intraday high and $1.51 low. Its market value is about $101.65 billion, while 24-hour volume is close to $7.96 billion.

The recovery has several forces behind it. Short-position closures have helped, ETF demand remains significant, XRP Ledger development has produced a fresh catalyst, and derivatives access continues to expand.

At the same time, there are clear risks. The CLARITY Act setback shows that regulatory uncertainty has not disappeared. ETF flows can change direction. A rally based heavily on short closures can also lose force after the forced purchases end.

From a chart view, $1.50 to $1.53 is a key support zone, while $1.60 to $1.66 is the main short-term resistance area. The way XRP reacts around these levels may offer a clearer signal than any single news headline.

For now, XRP sits at an important point. The coin has recovered sharply from the $1.25 area, but the market still needs to prove that the move has enough real demand behind it to hold at higher prices. The combination of price action, ETF flows, derivatives data, regulation and the September 29 XRPL upgrade should remain at the center of XRP analysis over the next few sessions.
